H22 Accord Turbo

Steve brought us his 1996 Honda Accord with a relatively stock F22 motor in it. He gave us the task of swapping in an H22 and Turbocharging it.

We installed the JDM H22 with an LSD tranny into the car, and wired the swap. We also converted the power steering system to work with his Accord. Once we were done with that we moved onto the next phase of the build, the turbo system. Morgan fabricated an exhaust manifold specifically for Steve's cars, as well as a 3" downpipe, and 3" charge piping. We chose to use a backdoor style intercooler to eliminate the drives side charge piping. With less volume to fill the turbo can build pressure sooner, reducing lag time. After looking at many choices of turbochargers Steve chose to go with the GT3076r. This turbo offers him excellent street charateristics, as well as meet his future goals for much more power with a built block.

The entire build was formed around the idea that he wanted an efficient setup for the motor now, as well as a good setup for his built block. We chose a 600hp garrett core, as well as larger 880cc injectors and a 3 bar map sensor. We tuned the car using Neptune EMS.

The car made 337whp, and 275 ft lbs of tq at 10psi on the GT3076r. As you can see from the graph below the powerband is immense. The h22 sees 200 ft/lbs from 3600 rpm all the way to redline.
