BoxerSix is on a distinguished road

Yes, 420a true designation only came in '95-'99 eclipse/talon and avenger/sebring models. Neon RT came with 2.0L DOHC reverse flow 420a variant, but not true 420a. One stout motor when built with forged internals. HRC has been known to pull well over 700hp out of their boosted 420a's with nothing more than forged rods/pistons/arp rod bolts....no other engine work. Not even cams.

I went through three motor variant builds before the last motor in my car, the 2.4L/420a hybrid. 420a ITB, 420a turbo, 420a 9.5:1 CR for more torque, 2.4 hybrid. Somewhere in the neighborhood ~450fwhp in it's final trim. 452 seems to stick in my mind. Don't remember the torque but I snapped p-side axles like clockwork doing hard 5th gear pulls on the highway. Kept a spare and the needed tools to change out in the trunk. Swapped out the 3.94 transmission for neon SOHC 3.55 transmission for the taller gears as the 3.94's were completely useless(that's when axles started breaking).

Still miss it :/
