COM has great people, and I had a blast at their August NHIS event but I was disconcerted by their apparent mediocre tech inspection. (e.g. there was a car running with a small crack in the rear glass ... too much body flex, issue with a wall???) Some of the junkers there didn't look safe enough for the street let alone the racetrack although to my knowledge there were no issues. The PCA pre-inspection and re-inspection is better, especially for the lower run groups.
The time trial day is good and bad... you get less overall track time, but you get a shot to go at it alone. Most of the PCA events I try to run are low in attendance anyhow, so traffic is less of an issue.
