I could only assume you will get it lowered by a bike shop, but if you weren't, do so. Lowering the bike changes the dynamics of the bike, and could cause you a serious accident. You also run in to issues with clearance, kickstand, etc. If lowered too much and you hit a bump, the front fender can jam in to the bike and lock up the tire.
If you are 5'5 ish or over I'd highly recommend not lowering it, or lower it a very small amount till you can flat foot one of your feet without throwing the bike off balance.
