update:....old motor has been stripped and found some interesting stuff... not only were rod bearings and main bearings straight up fucked but the crank was almost starting to "walk" and the rods were actually beginning to score the block casting itself. we also believe to have found ANOTHER source for failure altogether. the rubber o-ring seal for the oil drainback into the pan was LAYING in the pan.. not around the drain tube as its supposed to which in turn can airate (sp?) the oil and in turn cause the bearing failure by improper lubrication. im unsure if this o-ring was ALSO sucked into the pickup tube at one point in time or not. this being said, i mean no disrespect to adam or the guys at kta but the oiling situation was the last thing to be fixed less than a week prior to the block destruction. adam did make me aware at that point in time that the block was weak so i cannot place any blame on anyone. just frustration. the new block has been fully assembled with the exception of the exhaust manifolds/headers/uppipe. i had originally thought the fp green was toast again as well as when we removed the block, the fins were EXTREMELY hard to spin by hand. some power steering fluid was flushed through the oil passage of the turbo and the shaft was spun by a drill to lubricate the chra.. it free'd up nicely and has no shaft play. the motor will be going back in this comming week and an appt will be made at ICS PERFORMANCE to be tuned by DYNOFLASH Al Friedman. several of you know of him and ,yes, justin i know ur not a fan of him. unfortunately its not any of your cars. she should see the streets again shortly all. be ready.
