it's a more inherently secure platform to begin with - a good part of that has to do with the fact that, when an open-source platform has a bug found, developers fix it, upload patches, and call it a day. Windows has "product cycles" and tons of administrative overhead that keeps things from rolling out (plus the fear of admitting "yup we fucked up") - and since much of OS X is built on those open-source packages it gets patched ASAP
