The GT with the 2.3 is torquey as hell. We got ours loaded with the HID's, leather, seat heaters, etc.
In retrospect, she would've been better off with the mazdaspeed 3, which I almost had her convinced was the best one, but she hates hatchbacks
Loved the power though. When we drove off the lot, I cried inside. You'll be fine with the jetta... but you won't be winning any races
