Buying used tires is just a very risky event. You sold presumably a great, mildly used set of quality tires to someone that needed them. Nothing wrong with it, but still just a highly risky event on the buyers end. Doesn't make you evil or anything. They're the only part of your vehicle that touches the road and and there's a lot more riding on them than just the car. You just never know if the "80% treadlife" used tires you bought have broken cords or internal de-vulcanizing (delam) that can be a root cause for disaster if pushed too hard. Just because they physically look good doesn't mean they are.
To each his own on this topic. It's a lose-lose argument here no matter which way I say my peace about it......
