This is my point right here. If it only costs $5 more to begin with, are you really getting that good of a deal with the "new" system? Granted, the game might be "better" in your eyes, but if the games cost the same and the controllers are basically the same, what is really the new stuff you are getting to justify not dropping the price? (Especially now that Blu-Ray won)
I love the PS3 and will definitely end up with one in the future, but Sony has to think about things here....if they don't drop the prices like Xbox has been, they aren't going to sway people on the edge of buying the system.
