Its very hard to tell over a forum post, but it seems like you are making this a much bigger deal than it should be. Seems like a lot of time is being wasted by you and all involved in the hiring process at this company. Is all this negotiating really worth it? All companies have policies and they are not going to bust every policy for a someone coming in as a fresh out of school engineer. Hell, they already busted one policy and gave you an extra week vacation AND you got a signing bonus. What more do you want? An extra 2k a year? That really isn't much and it isn't worth the trouble, IMO. The longer you keep it up the more likely they may determine you are not worth it and just drop you. Fresh new engineers are a dime a dozen. I say sign in and stop the madness.
