Sure but 99% of companies don't care if someone can do calculus. I don't call ME grads for interviews here, almost only MET. They are usually stronger in the CAD department and can apply the stuff from thermo/fluids which are important here because they spend the whole time doing just that instead of half of it deriving formulas.
With the economy taking a dump I would take their offer. I wouldn't stress over a couple percent pay. Take the 2 weeks of vacation and run. I've seen the economy go up and down a couple of times and with the upstate NY market job opportunities are likely to disappear for a while shortly. If you pass this one up you might be out of luck for a while.
