On all out cages where there are no requirements, you can definitely go nuts. If I didnt have a minimum weight requirement, I would've made it simple and bare-bones (light). Better to be light and unbalanced than heavy and balanced. I chose I-prepared because there is a lot of competition and its easy to get the car competitive. The next class up is Mod, where engine/suspension/body etc is all pretty unlimited, which means whoever wants to put the most money into their cars wins. There are ex-PTG race cars out there with ANOTHER $100k in them.

All the materials used are standard spec determined by BMWCCA Club Racing, which were basically just a modified set of SCCA rules.
