My 49ers failed epically in the draft in my opinion... I understand drafting a DE to replace the departed Bryant Young and to beef up what is a decent defensive team, however the lack of adding any real offensive standouts during free agency despite Isaac Bruce who is a great reciever but is aging made it necessary for them to draft some offensive players this year... Some very good recievers were available as well as a few decent QB's when their picks were up. I'm still unsure on Alex Smith because he has either had zero help on offense, a terrible O line, or has been injured... it would have been nice to give him all the tools this coming season to see if he is the guy or if he needs to be replaced.
