I hated my hurst shifter, I had one in my 96 Eclipse and I ended up switching to a Skunk2

I love the HURST, actually a buddy has a Cobalt SS with the B&M here and it doesn't feel as solid to me or him. Plus I just liked the look of the hurst alot better... I think the problems are with the people installing them... it's pretty simple as long as you mark your cables before taking them off. I didn't adjust mine a bit.

what makes this car a "stage 5"?
The Stage 5 package is from Intense Racing. I've actually taken it alot further than just the stage 5 kit but what the kit included was:

-2.5" S/C pulley and quick change hub
-machined s/c snout
-60# injectors
-ported supercharger
-Intense Stage 5 ECU upgrade

Like I said i've taken the kit alot further with numerous cooling upgrades, meth injection, header, 3" catless downpipe, titanium s/c bearings, my own custom HPTuners tuning seeing the Intese tunes are notoriously terrible and so on.

I've got no dyno numbers sorry guys... my best estimate puts the car at right around 300whp. I'm flowing approx. 35.5lb/min through the MAF which should put the car right in that area. I should have some track numbers for the car in a month or so...

damn nice balt.
My buddy had one when they first came out. I Loved driving it. The instant power from the SC was nice. Wasn't much in the aftermarket at the time, but I knew the potential was going to be sweet for them.
All he had was K&N filter and some ratty custom downpipe. I guess people were putting down around 215-220 whp stock, so he was bummed when I beat him with my chipped 1.8T. I was trying to convince him to get a pulley, but he wouldn't budge, then he sold it a month later.

The most recent upgrade to the Balt... The stock manifold was terribly restrictive especially since I am running a 3" catless downpipe and 2.5 freeflow exhaust. Car really seems to have picked up in the mid and upper rpms
