Thats a common misconception regarding eating. You can eat up to as late as you want. When food enters your body, it jumpstarts it and will metabolize the food. Portion control is a very effective means of losing weight.
Water and Teas are great for your body to eliminate things. Caffeine isn't very good for it

Oh and stay away from high sodium foods as they will cause your body to retain water.
