Well, to begin with, a fury convertible is a hell of a lot more then just 4-5 Grand, with the way the Mopar bubble is going, they are fetching a hell of a lot more money. Where as a 318 may not be a great motor in a C body, a 383 or 440 Fury, Polara, Newport, is a nice solid combo to start with.

A 318 is not just a truck motor, it was extremely common in all the base model cars and to be honest, though a 360 is a torque motor, <not introduced until 71 if I’m not mistaken> a 318 can turn lots more power with a cam and some head work. The 360’s where a low compression motor, and turned into a smogger motor real fast. A 318 and 360 are also a lot more plentiful; however, again, I agree that a 383 or 440 is a better build for that type of car.

The Dart, Duster, Demon, A bodies are also starting to see there own in value and great for a budget build. But is also becoming a lot harder to find, I’ve seen a solid Dart for for more then a Grand with a slant 6 in it. And Yes, the aftermarket is crazy expensive for our old Mopars. There are still major Parts that are not made for my Charger, let alone a Fury or Dart.

With the Satellite’s (Yes, they are expensive, people are cloneing these), GTX, Chargers, Roadrunners becoming so ridiculously priced, these Fury’s and Darts and becoming a lot more expensive and harder to find as well.

I agree that because the car is a 4 door, it’s not worth the money with a 318. The small block to a big block conversion is expensive; you’ll find a buildable CORE of a 440 for about the same price as that whole car, hold out, but do not overlook the 2 door versions of these cars.

I ignored the 302 statement. I figured it was a mistake
