Sunday night I went down to Long Island to check out a black 04 SRT-4 that I found on ebay. Monday morning when I arrived at the dealership and looked at the car, I noticed it had an AGP 50 Trim turbo and billet wastegate actuator installed. The rear driver wheel had serious curb rash, but I didn't let it scare me away. I pulled the car off the showroom floor and the owner of the dealership hopped in. He told me he had to go to the bank, and gave me directions to get there. Upon arriving at the bank, he said "You can get a better look at the engine now that it's outside and there is a lot more light." I hopped out, popped the hood, and gave it another look. There was some oil leaking from the valve cover gasket, but thats not a big deal. When he came out of the bank, he hopped in the drivers seat. I never got to drive the car warm. I told him to put it in 3rd doing 30 and put the pedal to the floor so I could see what the car was boosting at and listen for leaks. The car hit 5psi and stopped. There was massive vaccum leaks under the hood, and got knows what else. Now I'm pissed off because I took the train down there to drive a new car home and I didn't have one.
I went online at my friends house, found 2 srt-4's, one silver, one black. The black one was at a dodge dealer. Drove to the dealer at 4pm on monday, drove it, car was 150% there. It had a big FMIC at some point because the previous owner never put the crash bar back on the car. Got them to knock 1600 off the price by finding small stupid cosmetic damage. Left a deposit, told them to have it ready by 5pm the next day. Picked the car up on Tuesday at 5pm, went out to dinner and drove it back home to Albany. Everyone thats seen it so far can't believe the condition of the car, especially considering its black.
Anyway, I slapped my deck, sat radio, and AEM CAI on it today at the shop... Here she is...
