sony did this with the ps2 as well...systems get upgraded as time goes on
i personally have no need for HDMI nor 120GB hdd space. my tv is 720p so i am not buying into the 1080p hype now
i don't have the problems that some have had with their 360's...
i use mine daily, have since january...both for gaming and as a media center extender and it works flawlessly.
