Get a used name-brand intake, or a new one. I know it's "just a tube with a filter", but AEM, Injen, etc spent a lot of R&D time on that stuff, and the $30 ones on ebay are just copying their design. You might be getting the same thing in the end, but if nobody supports the companies that are actually out there making new products and making them tuned and working well for each engine, they won't be around any more. There wouldn't be any new stuff for the cheap shit to knock off.
I'll be interested to see what you get. My roommate has an 03 Type S as well, and I'm trying to convince him to stop being so damn stock (stereo aside). The K20 definitely responds extremely well to bolt ons, and it's god a hell of a sound with an intake!
