I still think HD-DVD will win out. Blue-ray will probably stick around but it's priced out of the market. This xmas season will probably tell a lot. Rumors are already starting about low cost hd-dvd players. They're already down to $299 with the manufacturer's rebate for the toshiba hd-a2. Blue ray players were "reduced" to $599 or something like that.

Good post. I am in the same boat. I came into the scene very early when Plasma/LCD was much more expensive when I went the DLP route. Beta produced much more quality but it lost as well. Who wins? Whatever. Just figure it out so I can make the switch.
