Need a little help..
Well lately Missie's Cabrio has been giving her minor problems. Every once in a while the car either wants to stall out or actually stalls out when coming to a stop. The battery is brand new, just put in this past weekend so I know its not that.
Any other ideas? Do these cars of an IAC Valve? Or could it be something as simple as a vacuum leak?
Any help is appreciated. It looks like I will be looking at that this weekend.

Make sure the alternator is putting out the correct voltage.
Exact same thing happened on my girlfriends Jetta... took the dealership 5 months, two stereos, two fuel pumps, three fuel pump regulators, and a fuse box to figure it out. Two dealerships, too.
Hers eventually got really bad, like the car wouldnt start, or would stall on the highway out of the blue.

Are you saying just check the voltage on the battery? Cause as long as the voltage is ok on the battery you don't even need an alternator.

Thats what I am thinking. I just have to find all the vacuum hoses and check them out I guess. Do any of you happen to have a diagram of the 2.0L in these things to make my life easier?

Funny, my Honda would run without a battery but when the alternator died it wouldn't run at all.
Her car was the same.
I'm saying make sure that there is X volts when the car is on (14/16 whatever it is). I'm probably wrong, most of the time I am.
Edit: Oh yeah, and http://www.vwvortex.com might have the answer... its a big site though, so searching might be tough.
Edit2: I sound like a prick. I'm really not trying to be. Just stating my experience.

I work at a vw dealership, and i had this problem with the cabrios, mostly cause by the starter coil getting wet, and any dampness underneath the motor, i would try to blow it out same with the sparks, that's what the techs do after it happens!

Haha yea, its all good though. VW's suck though I have determined. You supposedly need a special tool to change the stupid transmission fluid in the automatics since there is no drain plug!
