They've actually been developing it for a while. It was in Popular Science last year, I believe. It replaces the normal suspension components with linear electric motors and some sensors. The suspension then actively moves the wheels to eliminate most bumps, dips and body roll. It gets its power from a generator similar to an alternator, with about the same draw as an AC pump. As far as weight/sturdiness/performance/price, I don't know. None of that was really decided when PS was showing it, as it was the first time they had had it on a car. I never saw the videos, but I hear they were very impressive.
