You guys talk about it like its a big deal even if it was implemented. Like you wont disable it the second any EE posts a write-up of how to disable it. Then you get to drive around like a butthole like usual and there wont be cops looking for speeders.

i still say offer it up as an option to drivers who've racked up enough speeding tickets in a short time span as opposed to suspending/revoking their license, that is as long as their record is otherwise clean (running stop signs, red lights, tailgating, that sorta thing)
hell, rather then that $300 charge for to many speeding tickets NY charges when you reregister, just make those folks pay for this thing
and i'm with screaminfast, old folks need to take a second or third drivers test at some point, if you can't handle the speed limit at a minimum, say hello to the medicare bus or whatever the hell that thing is

I work for a private company that does public/state government software development. We are just finishing software that allows the government to monitor/maintain photo analysis of pictures at stoplights.
Simple terms: If you run a redlight, someone is watching. I got my hands in the software so your FUCKED.

Me? I have a wide array of talents.
My official title is Software Engineer. However, I do have a strong desire for web development. I don't use the term 'design' as it makes me think of artsy and my artsy skills suck to say the least.

speed doesn't kill. sudden decelleration does.
they dont need a speed nanny. they need a dumbass driver nanny. something that tickets people for being unable to control their car, cutting people off, being on the phone, stopping for no reason, running other cars off the road becuase they aren't situationally aware and generally being an unattentive, frightened, overly paranoid and incompetent driver.
