wow, using a 2.5L engine makes the sti a sellout? subaru could have easily used the 2.0 to make the power over here, they just choose not to, because unfortunitly, the other cars in our marketplace it has to compete against as a sports car for the young have useable torque in the lower rpm range, thats about the only reason, and i'm sure they were thinking ahead about the other turbo models and possibly putting a 2.5L in those as well, would have looked retarded with a 2.5L legacy gt and wrx and a 2.0L sti
just keep in mind, the evo was only modified to meet us standards, the STI went through a redesign when it came over, essencially purpose built for the US market, the evo was originally just a limited release to test the waters, other big reason, mitsu had the legendary motor already there, changing that would have hurt sales, for subaru, 2.0 or 2.5, wouldn't effect sales, for every person like you who views it as a sellout and won't buy, theres 5 people who probably bought one rather then something else because of it
back to the evo, i think i'm gonna be sick, very fugly front end, i just keep thinking VW when i look at that grill, the old evo had a unique look that was wierd, but in a cool way, the new front end is just blah
