most imports roll on 17's.. you can get a very good tire for 120 a tire.. vette rear tires are atleast 200 to 250 a peice for a comparable tire the fronts would be around 150 per..

brakes are one of the most common maintance items on a car.. especially a high preformance car..

a vette is just way more money to keep up and in good condition as opposed to an srt/wrx/balt or the rwd lower cost cars

Shawn96VR-4 is an unknown quantity at this point

Don't daily drive a sports car in NY. Period.

C5 would be a great purchase if you can afford the insurance. Hard to find a sporty car for that price that isn't beaten the shit out of because most of the younger crowd buys them.

My vote:

1G 3/S BPU it

Thats the good thing about a vette though. The younger crowd doesn't usually buy those, they go for the cheaper camaros/firebirds instead. Again, I am not suggesting he buy a RWD sports car, but my point was that often times they can be a better place to start if you are looking for lots of power and certain ones even do real well in the twisties.

As I said before though, anyone who is a decent drive could throw a could set of snows on the car and have very little problems. There are many people that drive LS1's and even the LS2 GTO's out in the snow belt year round.

I agree. I should have mentioned that. That's why I am going to a C5 for my next car or a Supra which is outside the buying power of most people that can really abuse it.

The C5 is a great bang-for-buck car too.
