even tho this prolly isn't what you want to hear the local community college here in albany has an amazing body shop program.. it's a 2 year course and goes thru everything you need to know to work at a body shop.. they also can hook u up with a good starting job as well... i'm know a few poeple on this board have taken the program and they do some pretty nice work

I'm looking for something like the best in the country, not "pretty good" nothing against the school or the people that go there, I just want the BEST program i can get, If i'm gonna pay for it, I have high expectations.... I'm already paying alot here at UTI...
i just want my training to be something that will set me apart from the rest...

Wyotech's autobody program is very good. My friend Nick went there to do it and now he paints like nobodies business.
UTI really isn't the best school to learn stuff about cars. Your own garage is.

If you're interested in really researching this you need to consider southern FL and southern CA. If you do a search both have AIAB schools in their locations that are known as the nations best for the field.

I dunno, I love UTI, the guys are assholes, but I'm learning alot, and any school that trains the people that end up working, and designing cars for Porche, BMW, Audi, Lexus, and Mercades, is a good school in my opinion.

my gf goes to baron institute in conn. its a 12 month program. collision, chassi tear down, metal fabrication and painting. then for an additional 3 months you can do a custom painting coarse. in my eyes being in the buisness for a hand full of years at evo i think its a good school, small classes and good teachers. only down fall she has mentioned is sometimes there is a lack of tools.
its pretty pricey though but probably not anymore then uti, plus its only 6 hours from rochester.
if your looking for someplace not to far thats decent check out alfred state. its a heck of a lot cheeper and they're program is excelent. only downfall is that its alfred newyork... which is in the dictionary under the word boring

yea my friend went to Baron, and he was not thrilled with the outcome from that school, but hes got a decent job now, he's working at the dodge dealership in Panorama, and its something to think about, but one thing is for sure, i'm not gonna be living in those dorm rooms.....
I guess its something to check out, thanks!
anyone heard anything about PenncoTech? its in Bristol PA, and i saw an ad for it, but i haven't heard anything about the school....
