Shawn, I have the ECUFlash program and am very familiar with its parameters. You cannot make real time changes, you have to look at logs after the fact and make changes in accordance to what you find. I've been using the software on my IX for a while now and although it's very useful it's also limited in what you can and can not do. It's nowhere near the same as a piggyback. It's a read/write program only and the ignition has to be on with the engine off to do anything. Not great for on the fly adjustments under load. I love the software, but feel there are better alternatives for those who start upgrading turbo's and such.

Ick screw that. I'll stick with my E-Manage Blue and make on-the-fly changes to my AFR and TIMING.

yes al may have more experience tuning dsms and the like but what he HAS done with subarus thus far is nothing short of quality. 551 awhp on a stock block gt35r sti with ZERO knock count and a SMOOTH 12:1 afr is butter if you ask me. im more than content going to al for that. i already have an accessport to tune from and he can tune via accessport OR through ecuflash software. buschur is going to be the main parts supplier for the project being as his turboback right now is the LIGHTEST available stainless system for the scooby and is $750 for the entire turboback while ive seen several CATBACKS more expensive than that. now if you saw the numbers buschur has put down with just a BASE wrx youd shit yourselves.
I am friends with the guy that owns that WRX and I know the car well. Just their flash and turbo-back yielded very good results as you stated. I still think you're looking at your tune the wrong way, but it's not my decision. I know if I was getting a larger turbo and adding more than a fuel pump to my fuel system I'd want something more advanced than a flash through ecuflash or accessport. Again, it's your money and your call I'm just trying to help a brother out with my knowledge of ECUFlash and what would give you the best results and most tunability. Remember, being in the northeast you'll need at LEAST 2 maps to vary with temperature changes (before I adjusted my map for the winter I was running 3-4psi higher because of the denser air charge). Keep that in your mind as well as this is something you'll be doing yourself unless you drive the car strictly as a summer driver.
