big puddles arent good for cold air intakes :(
So there was really pretty heavy flooding and puddles in parts of Albany today and I took in a lot of water. My car had to be towed and shit. Is the engine gonna completely shot or is it repairable? Anyone have any idea?

if it took in enough water and got into the internals its gonna be fucked up because i remember my friend bought a Mercedes G-Wagon that ran through water and took a good amount of water in and the motor had to be rebuilt

does it knock? i mean usually when it hydralocks it bends a rod or something. But if it isnt making any noises, I would change the plugs, clean out the cylinders, maybe cap/rotor and it shoudl be ok. lemme know how you make out bro!

pull the plugs crank it and maybe spray out any remaining water? If it still runs like shit after the plugs and sounds cliky or anything you bent a rod...water doesn't compress

Like they said, drop the oil, pull the plugs. Fill with cheaper oil, fog down the cylinders with some PB blaster and turn it over. Try running it and check/change oil again. Repeat if needed. good luck

my cousin got some water in the motor of his bmw before(we were driving thru flooded areas for fun) it ran like crap for a lil bit, but we took the plugs out and dryed everything, it turned out that one of the coils got wet

And purchase one of those goofy AEM elements that prevent water from going in the intake. I can't believe I'm recommending this...but I actually saw a cool test done and the stupid thing works.

Its alive!!!
I don't think you can get one of those stupid bypass valve things for a one piece intake. I think I'm just gonna get a cheap short ram instead

You can get one. You just have to cut the one piece to install it in whichever place yous ee fit.
