Yea, this was the biggest mother f-ing pain in the ass install I've ever done on an Evo in a certain timeframe. If something could have gone wrong, it did. TOB wedge collar not releasing for shit, transmission input shaft sticking for 2 hours on something, a host of spring clips fused inplace that tear inconspicuous holes in coolant hoses when they do finally move, on and on and on.

And I don't know who the assfuck fabricator at ATP is that designed this "stealth" kit, but it ain't fucking stealth, and fit like crap in general. I mean who designs a bolt in kit with the 3076R inlet DIRECTLY inline with the downflow coolant hose and then again fucks you more by placing it a mere 1" away from the thing, leaving you no other choice but to coat the parts with KY and completely cram/flex the intake/MAF/filter/clutch slave cylinder/coolant hose into the space and pray nothing fucking goes wrong.......a bunch of assfucks who don't deserve to get the type of money they demand for for this "bolt in kit" shit. I don't give a shit about your pretty back purged tig welded piping if you can't even manage to design a simple fucking path to get air into the inducer without a cluster fuck in the first place

And I have yet to see one fucking EVO-aftermarket company produce a lower intercooler pipe that fits at least half assed let alone perfectly and doesn't require you to hack the under tray to shit. Wasn't hard for me to make one fit nice and snuggly before...why can't these cool-ass companies make shit right?????? Too bad it wouldn't fit this kit without modifying again, didn't have the time then to do so and as it was barely finished in time for the run to the dyno. Mike Wilcox's Injen charge piping may prove me wrong tomorrow but I have no faith for it. None.

Rant rant rant............working on a car for many many hours then pulling a ~24hr stretch on it to may a schedule hurts my brain.....

in the end the bullshit and work pays off with good numbers. Car is a fucking rocket.......

I did enjoy spending 12 hours of my life (from 7pm to 7am) with Adam and Pete at KTA trying to help wherever possible and seeing adams eyes turn to balls of fire, hell, and brimstone. I'd never seen someone so angry. The ATP kit fitment was questionable for being a "stealth bolt on" but I am pretty happy w/ the appearance (you can't tell its there unless you quest for the tial ewg) and the performance. It is setup a bit different than most 30r's as the kit is designed to come on hard a bit later than typically. A fully built valvetrain is recommended when running the kit so you can redline to 8500-9000rpm depending on what your flavor is. Power comes on hard at about 3.5-4k, tabletops at 5k, and runs all the way to wherever you want it to. Honestly I'm suprised the ltitle 2.0L spools the turbocharger as well as it does. The car feels totoally different. Boost comes on smooth and hard. No more jerky off/on throttle w/ the spool happy td05h16g. SUPER satisfied with everything for the money aside from teh fitment issues. Another phenominal build from KTA. I may have adam fabricate an intake pipe to replace the stock one in the future to eleviate the cluster fuck around my tranny. Adam Hennessy fabrication FTMFW. I <3 him. In a non-gay (but somewhat erotically homosexual) way. LOL!

1stGen-where have you EVER seen a Mustang read high? ANYONE who uses the dyno for TUNING keeps the stock calibration from Mustang in order for the eddy current load to properly work and emulate rolling resistance from teh road. Which dynos such as dynojet, do not. They spin freely and post HUGE numbers. Yes, Mustang and Dyno Dynamics can be calibrated to read like a dynojet. No, I would never goto a shop that calibrates their dyno to read in such a way. Buschur Racing, DTM Motorsports, Moon Performance are just a few to name who all use the OEM Mustang Calibration which is a FANTASTIC tool for tuning. How much do you want to bet my "411whp" will outperform ANY Evo that makes 411 on a Dynojet? It's a bet I'd gladly take any day. We can start a dyno debate if you'd like, but its common knowledge in teh tuning world that any eddy current load bearing dyno reads WELL below a dynojet given the operator of the dyno isn't a lunatic and jacking the numbers.

P.S. there is no "load" on a Dynojet. You just spin the rollers and they have a brake. Pretty easy to make bigger power numbers when the tires have no resistance at all. It's like lubrication during sex, just makes everythign smooth. Dyno Dynamics/Mustang are both (as I mentioned) eddy current load bearing dyno's which both read notoriously LOWER than Dynojet. I've been to both a DD and Mustang...NEVER put any of my cars on a Dynojet. Jay can attest to how low DD's read, also. Not anywhere near as high as a Dynojet. I hate dyno debates. I just felt the need to education you in this field. As I can't match you in the driving category

Way too many people talk about dynos w/o first hand knowledge.

Dyno comparison is pointless. Way too many factors. From most of my reading, DD and Mustang read low. PERIOD. DJ is the INDUSTRY STANDARD. The problem is that DJ have versions where some read higher and some read lower. Smoothing, SAE vs STANDARD, user configuration, etc.. all can change the #s. DP have been said to be low or high as it's highly configurable.

Who cares? Track doesn't lie but if he is getting 400+ on a Mustang than I'd guess that's near 475+ on a typical dyno. Justin has a car capable of MID 11s @ 120+.

I've read that Mustang dynos read like 8-10% lower than DJ's... However, real world knowledge would only allow us to prove that with 2 dynos, in the same booth, with the same car and all weather conditions kept the same... Eh.

Oh, and nice numbers BTW.

I have my moments......

And fuck dyno's. I'd put my street tuned Porsche builds up against dyno tuned Porsche builds anyday, bet most are just as "tuned". Dyno tuned may squeak more power out, but at some expense to the drivetrain....... Porsche's are about the only car I tune these days anyways as most people are hooked on this dyno craze. They've got there benefits.....they're safer to tune on instead of ripping up a road 120mph in 4th. Consistent, and quicker to tune. That's about it though. Maybe I'll make a set of dummy rollers for myself and call it a day........

If I want my car faster I just throw more air and fuel at it and tune for AFR's/EGT's/No-Knock and hope a rod doesn't poke out of the block. Did just that to the avenger for years and only pulled 2 dyno pulls ever on that car just to please a crowd and my fellow club members at the time, and I didn't even foot the dyno bill If the motor blows, it wasn't strong enough........build it better....Just my opinion, and an arguable one at that....

It's been a rough week.......
