Gee. Oversteer from a midengine car in the rain. Never felt that before.

That's rather scary the ferrari could explode on impact like that. I thought he may have hit the front fuel cell on the porsche, but looking at it even more, there's no chance all that fire was only from the porsche's tank. The car was absolutely ENGULFED! From a door hit!! That's totally ridiculous!

Safety standards werent what they are today. That doesnt happen anymore. Neither does the medical attention to the Ferrari driver which was the scariest part.

Anyone catch the Rolex Sunchaser 1000k last weekend? Max the Ax bringing the car all the way back to the pits fully engulfed in flames? Dudes crazy. Love it.

Yes, but we're not talking 20 years ago. It's not like that's an old 930 that crashed. This is still within the last decade, I'd imagine. I can't see how there would be that much of a difference in terms of fire prevention.

Cool Suit and FAD(fresh air delivery) systems my firend......the only time I've ever been sweating my balls off in Nomex/suit is sitting for grid to form during some FSR events I've run due to the open cockpit of the car.

I just look at that poor bastard in the Ferrari and figure the fucker is dead, then to see him actually move after being in there for so long. Just breathing that hot air is enough to kill you, let along being burnt/cooked to death...

Nomex = racers only friend out on the track.....

Cool suits are the SHIZ, but if it stops working, its even hotter with it on. Turning it on tho is like jumping into a pool in March, you're going to gasp and scream a little.

Nomex is hot but no one is stupid enough to not wear it for that reason. I just started wearing my nomex/firesuit/etc to even regular track days because I figure I have just as much a chance of dying there than at a time trial or karting where it's mandatory. I just take the nomex top off when I get out of the car.

Race safety in all forms went from non-existant to major focus right after Mr. Earnhardt died. The HANS device (would've prevented his death) was available but few had even heard of it since the first versions were uncomfortable to wear. Even in the late 90s, you had meth fuel in Champ cars and drivers being burned alive by invisible fire. Cars would get stuffed into walls with no way to dissipate energy other than to hit the tire wall. People considered it normal and lots of people died. Now safety in racing is top priority in every official form and you dont see dead race drivers anymore, except in tragic helicopter crashes.

"I remember the day when racing was dangerous and sex was safe."

Edit: Adam, I have the check valve but I dont think its the culprit. Still need to break it open. However, if you still want to tear apart my motor and make it stupid fast, I'm down.
