new dyno results with the 30r

got my car running the other day and Morgan had a chance to throw a sweet tune on it after work tonight. 575whp at 24psi, and 420ft lbs. it actually made more ft lbs at less boost than my 35r but as expected the top end died out a bit. in the spring im gonna push 28+psi and hopefully hit the 600whp number again. i couldn't believe myself how much power the 30r made. i didn't think it was gonna make 550.

this second graph is on the WG spring, if you look at the graph below it shows the WG holding 16.5 or so psi. slightly disappointing as the new setup doesnt want to make any less power than this. this is my 3rd manifold and all have resulted in the same. i think its time to do a dual wastegate which many told me i didnt need originally. the same setup held 9psi fine on erics motor.

35r vs 30r same motor both .82 a/r

looks like its gonna rain this weekend, but im gonna try to hit the track as i know this is lvd last weekend. if not i might take a trip to etown.

nope never had any problems with the 35r. after looking at the up front costs of the 42r build i decided to do a simpler setup to keep the car from beaking drivetrain continuously and costing more money. i do plan on going 42r for 2009 though but i would like to have fun with the car on the street for a year.

definately Matt. im very happy with the powerband and driveability. i wish i could run lower boost though. i would like to do a staged boost setup for more traction but i guess its not in the cards for me. LS tranny, 3rd gear, erics drag radials....no traction tonight. hopefully these bias plies will do the trick.

Hold the WG shut and see what it can do.

im one to take risks and push the limits, but that idea doesnt sound too appealing lol. im near the limits of the map sensor anyway.

ill need a larger wastegate spring before i can push the boost more with any stability.

Yea, doing that is ballsy. If the block can support it, go for it.

The block can, but the fuel setup can't, he really needs to go to a sumped tank and an a1000.

You mean running a FP at 19V isn't the best idea?

this car is srs bzns, i went for a ride in it when there was no pass. seatbelt

i felt like i was going to pass out lol

everything happened so fast and i couldnt concentrate on anything, no speedo to judge how fast we were going, all i know is we were at like 6k in 5th gear and then my mind would revert to me having no seatbelt with a roll bar inches from my head hahaha

good times, and i want a ride again next season
