The new ones are slower then the old ones though, despite having more power. In a straight line, a 5 speed is superior to a 6 speed, its just an extra shift. That is what us STi owners suffer from, and why the evo consistantly beats it at similar power levels.

As for the engine, its very similar. Same bottom end from what I read, but it does now have VVT, which is nice. I was considering doing some research to see if I could use this new head on my motor, but realized that its so much cheaper and easier to just spray more, or up the boost more.

I would stick to the neon srt4 over the caliber srt4 any day of the week.
