Question Thermal wrap questions

So, I'm getting my exhaust done in a week. I wanted to wrap the downpipes with thermal wrap. Is there something you'd specifically recommend? Is some kind of wrap better than others? What can you tell me? I've got 2 downpipes, i'd say about 3 feet long. I found 2 kinds, but i'm not sure if the one is worth the price(about 200% of the other).
Thermo-Tec Exhaust Insulating Wrap this is the cheaper one
Thermo-Tec Series II Copper Exhaust Insulating Wrap this is the more expensive one.
Also I wanted to know if this Thermo-Tec Hi-Heat Coating is also worth getting.

When we wrapped my exhaust, we used the black thermotec, and then sprayed it with the hi-heat coating. I would have your pipes ceramic coated @ swaintech before I'd wrap them. On my wrx I had coated them and then wrapped over them.

For my crf50 we're going to paint the pipe and wrap it, and I'm going to wrap my R6 one as well

i am not going to go with ceramic coating, because im using stainless pipes and wrap. itll be fine. it will get warmer under acceleration, but i wont hold it in 3rd at 5600rpm or anything, so itll cool off once im on the highway.

Any of the Thermotec or DEI wraps are good. D-pipes back is fine, just don't wrap any header with it. The header won't breath and will literally fall apart, stainless or not.

Ceramic coating helps anything whether FI or NA. Doesn't matter if the metal is mild steel or Inconel 625. You will see big underhood temp reductions using it.

Jet Hot Cerami-chome and Swain Technologies White lightning coatings are two completely different coatings alltogether. JH is a hybrid compound containing ceramic and an extremely high temp epoxy. ST is pure ceramic, and results in a rough, oxide like finish. ST is the hardcore coating and if it gets dirty it's difficult to clean. Is brittle and can be chipped off if struck by a hard object so it's not recommended for under the car. JH is the show quality coating that doesn't quite have the thermal capabilities of the Swain stuff, but can be mirror polished to that of polished aluminum. It's also VERY durable and needs to be machined off to remove it.

Swain Tech is also not recommended for turbine housings.

DEI or Thermotec. Is it worth the effort?

Their white lightning coating is brittle and can break off due to the rapid expansion of the housing at the turbine, causing impact damage to the inducer of your turbo. Doesn't always happen, but can.

I carry the DEI and Thermo-tec stuff. You get way more wrap for your money if you go with DEI.
