much as I want this to happen, I doubt it'll hit our shores, certainly not as light/nimble/cheap as this even IF it did

the article actually states that the weight will be pretty damn close to the original AE86 weight. But no mention of weight distribution and suspension setup, so who the hell knows.

I read that they were using a modified Subaru Impreza as a test bed. This thing will definitely see the light. I'm thinking that with the current drift craze here in the states, it will make it over here. I have a feeling it will come over badged as a Scion and may actually be priced right about the same.

this is one of the things i hate about the US. back in russia if u manage to bring a car over, whether it be german or japanese and get it cleared thru customs(a small bribe clears everything and FAST) you can drive it around fine. RHD or LHD makes 0 difference. why cant the US do the same? whats the difference really? so what if u have to go to a special place to pass inspection and pay 2x as much, thats YOUR problem, not theirs. youd pay them a tax in customs and stuff, so what diff does it make what we drive as long as they get their greedy ass share? bastards.
