Holy christ...that's cheap money for that thing really.
Yea I was thinking that too. This car is easily 1/2 if not 1/3rd the cost of the three closest competitors...the Veyron, Dauer 962, and the Konigsegg CCR. Let's not forget the MLF1 when they can be found for sale. While $600K is a load of paper, it's quite reasonable in the supercar department.
I'd still take a C-Gt over it though. I'm so biased.........
When James May(Captain Slow) from Top Gear took the Veyron to 253mph, he not only said it was easy to control, he said that it was totally uneventful. VW spent almost every penny they had to perfect it and.. AND.. make it reliable. I have a feeling this car is just another typical American piece of work, it was put into production way too soon. I can't wait to see how many people die from this thing going up in flames and/or falling apart.
Another thing, there's no way this car will hit 275mph showroom stock. I have a feeling it won't ever, even with modification. People just don't understand aerodynamics, all people think about is power.
Welcome to America, where quality comes second to 'We're the fastest!'
They said in the article that it was aerodynamically capable of 273 according to NASA wind tunnel testing, to the aerodynamics are why they are saying it is capable, not just throwing more power at it
Definitely a good deal for the money as a supercar, compared to others in its range
GTP's = ~1000lbs less to tote, weighing in some 1800lbs total. Let's not forget those long tail effects. I'll have to dig up the Nissan ZX-T video breaching the 280mph mark during it's initial testing when Nissan was deciding on what motor to use. That car with a VG30 breached 280mph with a mere ~900hp.
^^ This is why street cars do not excite me anymore. Race cars are far too cool.
More importantly, the GTPs werent build for top speed and they're still capable of 280mph. They can do that with all the aero planed out but dialed in they were pulling 4+ lateral Gs in corners = sweet = Konigsegg Who?

Cornering forces that lead to blood loss at the brain = my kind of car
