Walt - I've played both Halo games...UT3 is a lot more high-paced and action packed...it defenitely demands your attention at all times.

so we went out and bought ps3 last night and call of duty 4 and guitar hero 3. we are set for a while

I have heard that as well. I really want the white one whenever it comes out. So regardless of what happens in terms of hard drive size, I will probably wait for the white version.

don't worry bout the drive space... i say get the 80gb before best buy sells out... they are the only ones left with backwards compatibility. hard drive space on these don't matter, they all only have shitty 5400rpm drives anyway. I will be replacing mine in the future, you can get a pretty decent boost in speed (like load times n shit) by upgrading to a 7200 rpm unit and wont overheat the machine.

If you don't give a shit about backward compatibilty, the 40gb is a cheaper version, but lacks 2 USb ports and the memory card reader. If you wait a little bit they just finished the 45nm chip (current ones are 90nm) so when they release it in the PS3 it will run cooler and use less power.. all thoughts to consider.
