bh photo's prices are hard to beat at least from another reputable dealer, not to mention their just outside NY, no sales tax and quick shipping, hard combo to bet

B&H is in manhattan, so they do have sales tax, but they are hella fast shipping (order before noon one day, get it the next). They store is amazing. Made me drool, and when I stopped drooling, my credit card was $3000 lighter.

my bad, thought they were the place just out of NY.

but be careful of tigerdirect, never had a problem getting stuff from them, but their service is downright horrible

Have you checked out Froogle.com? It's part of Google. Just type in the camera model, and it will pull up different prices from all different sites. Might find a good deal that way.

Yeah froogle rocks. B&H usually comes up first on there anyways haha. I recommended them because most of time knowing someone who bought from them is better than just finding something on the internet. There are SOOOO many camera shops out there that are not registered Canon or Panasonic dealers and you get fucked with warrenty stuff if you buy from them.

Newegg's prices may be a little higher than B&H but put the item in your cart and calculate shipping charges to see which is cheaper.

http://www.newegg.com/

One call I only ordered once from, and had no problems, based out of Washington state (no tax for NY residents)
http://www.onecall.com/

B&H is great for service and product availability, but tax for NY residents

Use reseller rating to get the low down on any on-line retailer

I just ordered a camera bag from B&H and have ordered from them in the past. Prices are good and availability is good but shipping prices+tax kill it. I bought my 400D from Circuit City online, got a good deal with an online special that was going on and picked it up in store 45 minutes later.

Shipping is fast from B&H but from my experience it takes them a couple of days get the package in the mail.

Another thing that annoys me, not B&H's fault but UPS left the package in my garage and didnt evan bother knocking on the door. If I hadnt called and had my room mate look for the box it could have easily been stolen or my other room mate could have run it over when he came home. [/END RANT]

Personally I rather go through Bestbuy or Circuit city, order online and do an instore pickup but if you actually decide to order online B&H is a good place. There I said it.
