Our new TV

Here is a pic of our new TV. I didn't have the TV on so you can see the picture quality and the picture came out crappy, but you get the idea.

SD cable looks much better than I thought it would, but obviously its not the greatest. Movies even just through component look AWESOME. I have played a little bit of Kingdom Hearts 2 on my PS2 as well just hooked up with composite cables and even that looks really good.

I am still trying to tweak it a bit to get it to look perfect, but I think it looks a lot better than the Sony SXRD TV's which are its competitor. The JVC was even rated higher than the XBR2 stuff, nevermind the A2000 that you see in most stores.

Already ordered DVE (Digital Video Essentials) and its on its way

Do they have 60" LCD TV's that aren't LCD rear projection?

Upconversion is so a year and a half ago. You gotta go HD/blue ray when you have a tv like that.

I'll get a pic of my setup once my speaker stands come in

nice looking tv there cb

i'd say hold off on the HD and blu ray for the moment, neither format has a resonably priced player capable of outputing 1080p, for that matter i'm not sure there is even a single player outputting 1080p yet, their all stuck on 1080i and theres a few other minor issues that their working out still

wait till the second half of this year, i see a universal high def transport device out by the end of the year with many of the bugs fixed, and hopefully 1080p resolution for no more then the price of the cheaper devices out now

100% agree but some people, such as myself, are waiting for a standard similiar to the BETA vs VHS race. If you remember, BETA had much better quality but VHS won the war.

I think some are out, but they are super expensive, almost double per inch of plasma. If I had to, I'd get a plasma, but I really think plasmas aren't that sharp of a TV...

With that said, I'll probably be buying a 42" plasma for my office lol

theres no point in getting a 1080p player if 95% of tvs dont go past 1080i
