Windows Vista

Got my copy of vits business edition yeasterday. installing it now cant wait to see what they screwed up with the latest version of windows but I am hearing alot of great things about it thus far. Anyone else picked it up yet? What are your thoughts on it?

Really, RC2 wasn't that slow for me. I like Vista, but won't be upgrading for a while since I am too cheap.

i read that they have improved on using memory like linux. and it runs like linux. and it might as well be linux cause they cant run directx 10 on anything yet. so basically its gay.

well I got it all installed on my laptop and it seems to be running pretty good no major slowdowns at all. I like the look as long as I kick the start button to classic view. connecting to woreless networks is a little clumsy but it is just because I am not used to it I guess. heres a screen shot for yas.

That is probably the thing I hate most about it. Wireless management is horrible on it....

yea when they are buying exploits from hackers from $50,000 to $500,000 for one exploit depending on how big it is... im going to wait to..

and actually... ill be going to college next year so im just going to wait until summer to get a laptop and get it then

found a couple more things I dont like too much about vista. FREAKIN DRIVERS they couldnt package a soundblaster live driver with the OS I mean cmon its a common freakin sound card. My laptop install was cake but my pc is a bit of a pain driver suppport is really not there yet for the OS. I would wait a few months guys. spent 3 hours hacking drivers to get things running prperly ended up pulling out my ati tv tuner card as there was no way I could get that thing working as its a drivers nightmare even with supported drivers. as far as speed on my desktop amd 3200+ 1 gig of ram.. it is alot faster than my laptop kinda surprising actually considering my computer is one of the oldest in the house.

no the mobo and proc have had 0 issues but I just installed last night havent really beat up on it yet. I will keep you all posted on that. one thing vista is a pain with especially is raid cards if you have a raid board or a raid card in your machine be prepared for a serious pain in the neck took me an hour to get my card working. was down 2 hard drives until it was working. I know it sounds wiered but I have 4 hard drives in my machine along with 2 cdrom drives and a zip drive so raid addon cards help give me enough ide capability.
