Eff Cingular....

Here's how my situation started:

Around 2/10/07: Original phone broke. Inside screen was all white, outside screen was 1/2 and 1/2. I called and complained. They sent me a new phone, paid my past due balance ($150) and gave me free texting as long as I'm a customer.

Around 2/12/07: Get replacement phone. Handset speaker is broke. They send me new phone.

Around 2/13/07: Get replacement phone. Handset speaker volume is barely audible, even at max volume. They fail to notify me before they send me a new phone that I'm eligible for an alternate phone of a different make/model. So they tell me to call back when I get the new phone.

2/15/07: Get replacement phone. Works fine, but I want that other phone. I call about it and they say there's nothing they can do. They tell me to call back in a few days when they receive my three broken phones in the mail.

Today: I call about getting the new phone. They denied knowing anything about exchanging it for a different phone. Then I was sent to customer service. They said they'll put me back through to warranty exchange and tell them to send me a new, different phone. I get on the line w/ warranty exhange, gets disconnected. I call back, explain my situation AGAIN, they say there's nothing they can do. Back through to customer service. They put me on the line w/ the insurance to get me a new phone and waive the $50 co-pay. Insurance says there's nothing they can do because the phone is not damaged. I tell them to put me back with customer service. I get on the line, then disconnected.

These pieces of shit are putting me through to 123476134876 different people and I have to explain my situation 123476134876 times and I'm really getting pissed off. They keep sending me broken phones. I want a new phone. Is that too much to ask for? I was disconnected like, 3 times today, I'm still on hold since I started this thread. Only customer service says there's something they can do, but no one else can.

after you got your replacement phone that works 100% then they no longer need to give you an option to swap it for a new different phone. You got what you wanted... the phone you bought that works... now you are taking it to another level by wanting a different phone.

maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like you got what you wanted

I got a working phone, yes. The thing is that they told me I could get a completely different phone at no charge, no renewal. They told me as soon as I got the new phone (whether it works or not), to call in order to get a different make/model phone. Now they deny anything.

I don't see where you can complain too much. They replaced your phone for free, paid your $150 bill AND gave you free text for life. That seems like good customer service to me.

No offense, but it sounds like you are asking way too much for something as simple as a broken phone, which they have replaced anyway. They didn't have to pay your bill and give you free text messaging for a broken phone which isn't even their fault. Its the manufacturer of the phone itself....

Well I just got off the phone with them. They're sending me a brand new different phone, and a free holster with it too.

Maybe I was asking for too much, but oh well I guess. Hooray for Cingular!
