I went to circuit city last night lookin at a plasma flat panel. I won't utilize the 1080 so 720 if fine for me. Any reason (s) I shouldn't buy this tv?
honestly if you wont use 1080p now is no reason not to get it, hd direct tv is already 1080i and cable is 720p and i'm sure will eventually upgrade. getting a 1080p just means you will be able to take advantage of it when other things go to 1080p. even if your not going to use it now. seeing as only blu-ray is 1080p right now.

I've never heard of vizio, how are they? I liked the picture of the samsung that I posted a link to. 47'' 50'' is the size I'm looking to get, But I also want something that's going to last a few years. Right now I only have a 10 year old magnavox 26'' which is complete garbage compared to what I'm looking at. I'm kinda dumb when it come to all these new TV's. I know I want a flat panel so DLP is out, other than that I'm pretty much at a clueless as to what is what.
No, you were told correct. Time Warner is 720p if you have the HD receiver box.

hopefully they upgrade soon, i want to get a samsung 42" 1080p tv in the fall.
I'll have to check my TV again then, because I swore it said 1080i mode with the HD receiver hooked up... I even think the HD receive had a selection to choose 1080i...
