That is what happens. I've been in the IT industry for 11 years now, and I've seen so much change, and things go obsolete very quickly.

I'm not sure what you're commenting on here, because you've provided a comment without any information to back it up, besides some incorrect information. Vista doesn't have "powers." It's not like its captain planet (brew's car is, though). If you are speaking of DX10, then there are some games starting to come out.
Anyways, I thought it was obvious haha that I'd be using it for FCS, Shake, and the Adobe suite.
