Yay! for Blu-ray

Eh, most TV's upconvert just as well as an upconverting DVD player, the only advantage you really get with the DVD player is an HDMI cable. Thats like buying an "HD" antenna, its all about the marketing.

That being said, Best Buy had the Toshiba HD-DVD player on sale for $199 last weke or something, and I wouldn't call that a walmart DVD player.

As others have said, ultimately I could care less who wins, but decide soon.

GT5 wont sell PS3s, games like that dont sell systems, if so forza 2 would have sold alot of xbox 360s, you want to see a game sell a system, wait til halo 3 comes out this fall

GT series has a much more loyal fanbase than forza... you can't even compare them. The, lack of, game selection for ps3 is pretty much the only thing holding me back form owning one. When the new GT and GTA games come out, the sales will increase a lot. 360 has a ton of great games, there is no reason to wait for halo 3.

360 will be out almost 2 years at that point. Most people that want a 360 will already have one by then. There will be an icrease in sales, but not that drastic. And the effect that will have on the HDDVD vs blu-ray war will be so small (cuz only a small percentage will get the $199 360 HDDVD player attachment)

My sentiments exactly. PS3 has such a small selection of games at this point. I'm sure none of them have even taken full advantage of the systems capabilities. I look forward to GT5 and the new GTA generation of games. Also, gen 3 of Madden starts this fall with 2008. I think I'm going to be in love.

i honestly no longer think that the game system war will have anything to do with the outcome of hddvd vs bluray.

It's mostly in the DVD consortium's hands, and whoever can reduce the price of media faster.

correct, the console war has nothing to do with it, cuz the 360 HDDVD will have little to no impact. All ps3 owners will buy blu-ray.... and as the numbers increase, the potential customers grow.

Not that it will make it all that much closer, but do those HD-DVD numbers include the Xbox add on?

I am not sure how many people are even buying that though.

and my 2 cents, i think they should deff lower the price's on the HD DVD's
