I hate the format war. I want to buy a player but don't want something that's going to be useless in a year or 2.
I still think HD-DVD will win out. Blue-ray will probably stick around but it's priced out of the market. This xmas season will probably tell a lot. Rumors are already starting about low cost hd-dvd players. They're already down to $299 with the manufacturer's rebate for the toshiba hd-a2. Blue ray players were "reduced" to $599 or something like that.

interesting...
i still like blu-ray better because of its capacity, but judging by the lack of popularity of the ps3, coupled with the lower pricing of hd-dvd players, that there is a chance that hd-dvd will win out.
