need help to build custom PC

Hi all

I'm looking to build my own PC strictly for use with Maya (3D animation program). My budget is about $700. I have a monitor already, so what I need is:

-motherboard
-CPU
-memory
-drives
-audio/video (if not integrated with MB)
-case
-power supply

I'd like to get all the parts from newegg.com and am wondering if anyone else has done a build like this recently and could suggest a parts list? I know zip about this kinda stuff. The computer will be used strictly for use with this one program, as I prefer to use my Mac for everything else.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hmm $700 budget...

That's going to be tough to get what you exactly want. What are you looking for in terms of space, etc? Maya runs better with a good cpu, alot of ram, a decent video card, and a lot of hard drive space for models. Right there, you could be over $700. Good core 2 duos are around $200-300, 2GB ram is ~ $170-200, 500gb hdd's, are about $150, and a decent video card is probably $250-$500.

I will look around for you if you want.
