Thats pretty sweet. The one thing I don't like is the price tag. Prices are supposed to go down.

If by adding new features, you mean the controller, its a toss up in my opinion. The dual shock technology is there, the sixaxis technology is there, all they did was put them together and slapped a $55 price tag on the controller alone to make it look like you are getting a good deal by them keeping the price for the system the same.

the dual shock technology hasn't been there for the ps3 yet

including a better game like Metal Gear Solid 4 and the new Dual Shock 3 controller with the same $500 price tag is fine.



I just realized that you could have been referring to the price of the controller when I'm talking about the price of the ps3... yes/no?

Kinda talking about both. I know the dual shock hasn't been on ps3 yet, but its not hard to implement something that already exists on the two previous systems. I think Sony is using this to keep prices high, which I believe will affect potential sales. Its not like dual shock 3 is the same leap as what the Wii did. Dual shock exists, all they did was incorporate it into the controller for the PS3. I seriously doubt a whole heck of a lot changed in the controller interface between PS2 and PS3.

I bet it did.... I imagine dual shock takes up a lot of power and power is a big issue since the ps3's controllers are wireless. With the previous two PSs they didn't have to worry about it since they were wired. I don't really care to research it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had to move interior components of the ps3 controller around to fit the the thing in that makes it "shock" and put in a bigger battery. I see your point though.

I think regular ps3 controllers are $50, so an extra $5 for dual shock isn't that big of a deal.
