Battery Relocation

Has anyone ever relocated a battery to their trunk?

I dont need to but im thinkin about doin it to my civic. Just to do it. Im also gonna clean the engine bay up ALOT.

just wonderin if anyone has any experience.

I think a distributor block would be unnecessary. but it wouldnt hurt.

Just get the box, they have them at pepboys and autozone, a tray would be kinda ghetto in the trunk.

i work at pepboys. we dont sell a box. but ill check other local stores.

ur engine bay is clean as fuck. I wish i could pull my motor, paint my block and do a wire tuck

well its only a civic... i think 4 will be plenty. lol its got a tiny ass battery. I could fit 2 guage if necessary.

you can pick up a battery box for about 10 bucks at walmarts. If I remember correctly to be legal it is supposed to be vented outsode of the car unless you run a sealed battery like a optima. But I am not 100% on that. while I was at it I would add a kill switch if you store the car for the winter. you can pick a kill switch up at harbor freight for a few bucks. as for the power wire I would run at least 4 guage. Remember to keep your ground short less than 2 feet is ideal and grounded to the frame is best deffinitly not to body panels! hope this helps some.
one last thing your ground and power wire have to be the same size.

well im not storing the car at all. Its my winter beater. lol

im just trying my hand at some DIY's with it. I practice on my car so i can help out friends who wanna do that kinda stuff with their show cars.
