EFI 101 sounds like a good start.
Def. spend some time chatting it up and nerding around with some good tuners. If you're able to take items such as compressor maps, density ratios, CFM and VE and tie it all together for a specific application, you'll have a lot more to offer than just being able to put the right numbers in the load cells on the EMS systems.
What I want to do is become proficient at designing a proper system to achieve a target power level with certain variables and components...
I.e. when someone says "You should aim for a turbo that is in the middle of its efficiency island at a VE of 0.90-0.95 at around 18-20psi boost pressure", I want to be able to pick a power level that i'm aiming for, size up some components and design the proper system from the turbo to the cams to any headwork that may alter the VE.
ugh so much fun stuff gives me headaches.
