turbo rebuild

well unfortunately the turbo in my car is totally smoked. last time i started the car up it was blowing oil all over the place, and i had been noticing my coolant disappearing slowly prior to that. its extra gay because i haven't even driven the car since september, which prob contributed to it. anyways, i need to find somewhere to get it rebuilt and i'm looking for suggestions/options. the guy who does my ecu work has experience with cheapturbo.com and swears by them. they charge $299 minimum for a basic rebuilt. just wanted to shop around a bit....

Might want to start weighing the rebuild vs replace (used or new) and see what makes more sense. Most of the rebuilding I have seen cost like $300 or so depends on the issue.

Given your smoking and losing oil, I'd say you have some issues. You sure it's from your turbo? Did you check for shaft play?

you can lose coolant and oil from the turbo.. plus this one is old as hell... i'd say try to find a replacement for it.. nothing to big tho, then you gotta deal with fuel supply

i could upgrade, but i'm not feeling the cost or the other extensive list of mods i'd have to do(plumbing,injectors,flanges,downpipe). and yes there is a ton of shaft play. i'm not trying to find out what the problem is, i know exactly what it is; i mean oil is dripping out on to the tranny and seeping out around the WGA. just lookin for a place to do the work

deff sucks that you need to do this, however I still vote upgrade, new or used.
