Turbo F22 w/ an FMU?

I learned quite a bit in fuel systems today about FPR's and FMU's

My friend Jake and I are doing a turbo project this summer. we've already started gathering parts. WE came to the question about fuel....
FMU?

were trying to figure out the ratio FMU we would need to use. We plan on running no more than 10 lbs of boost

has anyone else ever done a setup w/ an FMU?
What was ur setup etc.?

The last time I ran an FMU was on my supercharged maxima. It was a Vortech 8:1 FMU, and I was running about 10-12lbs of boost. IIRC

The days of a rising rate fuel pressure regulator are LONG gone now.

You have something joyous called an eManage. It will adjust fuel AND timing and it will do it with larger injectors (up to 50% larger, with +/- 20% adjustment) so you don't blow up crap and break shit.
It's also sold on ebay for about teh same price as a quality FMU and the other necessary gear you'd need to make it work effectively.

embrace technology. it keeps your wallet thicker in the end.

Shawn96VR-4 is an unknown quantity at this point

Yea, I actually checked the date of this thread.

Try something that allows you to at least adjust AFR per RPM bucket/TP at the very least. You might wanna consider tuning using a MAP but I get a very solid AFR with just the E-Manage Blue tuning based on RPM and TP.

Also, you need to tune based on the amount of power your going to make (hench how you decide what injectors/fuel system) and not the amount of boost. Boost is just back pressure.

On my 98 Maxima that was the setup that I had through Stillen...if you had a 95-99 then you're right on the money with the #'s.

As far as the tuning goes, Shawn is right on the money in saying you have to tune for fuel and not for boost. It doesn't matter if you're running 1 lb or 100 lbs of boost, the fuel is what makes your motor No fuel =

why use an fmu thats only half the tune, what about ignition. for hondas there are NO reasons to run an fmu. EMS options are so cheap, like crome....software is free how much does it cost to get chipped...50-75 bucks...and u can then get it tuned to run properly.

also fmu typical pressure ratio is 12:1 so thats adding 120psi of pressure on top of ~40-45psi base pressure.
